Define flavors for scalars with VEV

Post by Saro » 8. Sep 2016, 11:01

Hello,

I have one small question: It seems that it is not possible to use scalar fields that get a vacuum expectation value in:

DEFINITION[EWSB][Flavors]

I get the error message that the corresponding fields cannot be find. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not possible?

Hi,

yes, there might be a problem because the decomposition into VEVs and real fields as well as into flavour states is done at the same level. I.e. the real components from the VEV composition are most likely* not known at the stage of the flavour decomposition. You can try to define several sets of eigenstates

Code: Select all

{Gauge,TEMP,EWSB}
and first decompose the states in flavours and than split them into VEVs+real fields.

Cheers,
Florian

* "most likely" because I'm on vacation and I don't have any Mathematica here to check that.
