simpson ... micromegas holding

Post by Amin » 12. Oct 2017, 18:55

Hi Florian,

I am performing a grid scan using SSP for the MSSM created by SARAH. Thus I created a new model in micromegas using SARAH's CHep files.
I have noticed that for some points micromegas freezes and shows this message:
simpson: recursion terminated after 33 steps
I have to terminate the whole scan process and start all over again. I suppose that this a troublesome point but why doesn't micromegas just skip over but rather hangs there? Is there a way to circumvent this so the scan can continue without interruptions?

Thank you,
Amin

I should mention that I am using micromegas 4.3.5 and so I have CalcOmega_with_DDetection_Mov4.3.cpp as the source file.
Also, I am attaching the troublesome point in case relevant.

Thanks again.

Hi,

this looks like an internal micromegas problem. So, I can't really tell what is causing it. You can try to use the timeout function von SSP which tells it after which time it should try to kill micromegas. It should be described in the manual.

Cheers,
Florian
