Weinberg-Operator in a Non-SUSY model

Post by MBerbig » 11. Jun 2018, 10:28

Hi,
I'm well aware that SARAH does not support effective Operators in general, since it is a tool, which is used for beyond-tree-level calculations.
The wiki mentions that (http://stauby.de/sarah_wiki/index.php?t ... rpotential) one can add e.g the Weinberg-operator to the superpotential of a given model. This is implemented e.g in the model "Seesaw 1", that comes with the package.

Since I need the Weinberg-operator for a non-supersymmetric theory purely at tree level, I wondered if one could also add this operator to a Lagrangian in SARAH.
I took the "Seesaw 1" model and rewrote everything in terms of non-SUSY conventions (e.g fermions and scalars instead of supermultiplets, lagrangian instead of superpotential etc.) and the Weinberg-operator does not appear in the neutrino mass matrix, whereas the rest of the model works fine.

Are higher dimensional operators only supported for SUSY theories and if yes is there a work-around to use them for non-SUSY theories?

Any help or comment would be greatly appreciated

Max

Hi,

yes, up to now the Weinberg operator is only supported for SUSY models. The simple reason is that there wasn't so far any demand to have it also for non-SUSY ones. Let me check how easy it is to change that...

Cheers,

Hi,

here is a quick hack (put the file in Package/Lagrangian/) and a test-model.

Cheers,
Florian

Hi,
Your "hack" works like a charm.
Thank you very much for your fast reply and your help.

Best regards
